Crochet: The BUTTERFLY STITCH
In this post and in the video tutorial below, we are going to see how to make the Butterfly Stitch.
Abbreviations:
ch, chs = chain, chains
hdc, hdcs = Half Double Crochet, Half Double Crochets
sc = single crochet
To make the Butterfly stitch we need to make:
1.How to make a slip knot and the foundation chain
2. The Half Double Crochet Stitch you will find it in the tutorial:
The basic stitches.
3. Rows 1, 2, 3
5 hdcs, ch 10, 5 hdcs, ch 10, 5 hdcs
4. Row 4
5 hdcs,
ch 5 ( the number of the chs of this Row should be half of the chains made in the 3 previous rows),
1 sc ( around the 3 series of chs of the previous rows),
ch 5
5 hdcs, 1 sc ( around the 3 series of chns of the previous rows), ch5, 5 hdcs.
