The Wattle Stitch is one of the Shell Stitches' family. Is a simple stitch and creates beautiful texture especially if crocheting baby blankets.
Abbreviations:
Ch = chiain
sc = simple crochet
dc = double crochet
ch-1 the space created while working ch1 in the previous row
Istructions:
Make a foundation chain of a multiple of 3.
Row 1
Skip 2 chs ( count as a sc) and in the 3rd make 1 sc, ch 1, 1 dc all in the same stitch
*skip 2 chs, in the 3rd make 1 sc, ch 1, 1 dc*
Repeat from * to * across Row 1.
End Row with 1 sc in last ch.
Turn
Row 2
ch 1, skip the 1st sc and dc and *in the ch-1 space of previous Row make 1 sc, ch1, 1 dc*
Repeat from * to * across Row
End with a sc to the turning ch of previous row
Repeat Row 2 untill desired lenght reached.
