In this tutorial I am going to explain how to make another Edging... the V- Stitch Border .

You can either start directly the border and then add it to the fabric or  crochet it directly onto the fabric by using the blanket stitch technique

In order to make edging corners: How to make corners to borders

How to make corners to borders

In order to make the V- Stitch  we need to make a foundation chain of a multiple of 2+3 chains.

Instructions: 

Make one or two rows of single crochets

Ch 3 that count as 1 double crochet

Skip 1 stitch, into the next one make 1 V-Stitch

V-Stitch:

1 double crochet, ch 1, 1 double crochet, all into the same space

Skip 2 stitches, into the next one make 1 V-Stitch

In this tutorial I am going to explain how to edge the corners in order to  crochet nice  borders!!!

In order to edge around you can can crochet either by using the
whip stitch used in crocheting EDGINGS/BORDERS technique

or the Blanket Stitch for Borders Single Crochet an Edging techniques

Blanket Stitch for Borders Single Crochet an Edging

Instructions:

In order to edge around:
For each chain or single crochet row or stitch: make: 1 stitch
For each row of half double crochets make: 2 stitches
For each row of Double crochets make 3 stitches

Change the colour of the yarn:

in order to change the colour of the yarn ( no matter which stitch you are going to use), make the stitch as usual till the final yarn over and then yarn over by using the new colour

For this tutorial I've used a swatch made by half double crochets and I am going to edge around by using the single crochet stitch also called blanket stitch

How to make the corner: Technique 1

make 1 single crochet into the last stitch of the row, ch 2 and make 1 single crochet into the next one ( first lateral stitch)

How to make the corner: Technique 2

make 1 (or 2)single crochet into the last stitch of the row, and make 2 single crochets into the next one ( first lateral stitch)

Anyway, the patterns use to indicate how to make the corners as well, in case there's no indication
you use one of these two techniques

Hi everybody and welcome back !!

In this post and the video below I am going to explain how to make the Crab Stitch or Reverse Single Crochet Stitch which is very useful as edging to finish projects

Treat this stitch exactly like a single crochet, except that you are working into the stitch to the RIGHT of your hook (not the left)


In order to  make the Crab Stitch we work from left towards RIGHT  (and not from right  towards left, as usual)

To start the row, chain one and insert hook into the next full stitch to the RIGHT. (With the technique of Yarn Under ) pull up a loop. Yarn over and pull through both loops on hook.

Little Basket pattern:

Magic RIng,

Row 1:ch 1, 8 sc into the ring,

Row 2 and 3: 2 single crochets in each st,

Row 4: 1 front loop s c in each stitch, Rest of the Riws: 1 yarn under single crochet in each stitch

 Yarn Under Single Crochet Crossed Stitch

Insert the hook into the stitch,

pass the crochet over the yarn ( the yarn should be under the crochet hook), drow a loop, yarn over and pass the yarn through the 2 loops
